Founded in 1948, the Cancer Research Trust is an independent trust dedicated to:
- Supporting innovative research to improve the prevention, treatment and control of cancer
- Raising funds in the form of donations and bequests to facilitate cancer research.
For six decades the Cancer Research Trust has partnered the UCT Faculty of Health Sciences, Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, to develop outstanding cancer research. It is administered by a board of trustees, assisted by Nedbank Private Wealth. The Trust relies on generous support from individuals, corporations and foundations.
